About Shelby R. Cook, MSW
Hi there, I’m Shelby. I am a psychotherapist licensed in Ohio, specializing in trauma and serving veterans and their spouses. I have worked with clients with various concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, career challenges, and trauma. I believe in working with clients and couples to identify strengths and develop the skills to navigate life’s challenges.
My therapy style is warm, laid-back, and interactive.
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don’t believe in stigmatizing labels. After your first session, you can expect to feel hopeful and clearly understand the goals we will work on together in therapy. You’ll gain the knowledge and skills needed to handle life stressors and mental health symptoms through treatment.
My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, and solution-focused therapy. I also believe in the importance of physical activity and overall well-being as a pillar of good mental health. I will tailor our sessions and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
As a Licensed Independent Social Worker, I serve adults seeking to improve their mental health and overall well-being using a person-centered approach.
