About Heather W. Bryant, PhD, LPC

Dr. Bryant founded Creative Processes to be a supportive and objective place for individuals and businesses who want to explore their options, think outside the box, and develop ways to best adapt or adjust that will help them get the results that they seek out of life, projects, and business.

Dr. Bryant has been working with individuals and families since 1998. She has provided services in a therapeutic setting since 2006 when she graduated from the University of North Alabama. She has worked treating trauma, mental health, and in private practice with children, individuals, couples, and families to provide support as they faced life's challenges. As she became interested in researching, she enrolled in a doctorate program to further solidify her counseling expertise and broaden her understanding of the statistics and methods involved in conducting scientific research.

Eventually, Dr. Bryant moved to Los Angeles to pursue completion of the research required to complete her doctorate. For the last seven years, she focused on research and data collection using virtual methods and this has led to increased knowledge of how to be creative and resourceful when researching from a long distance. She has a particular interest in social dynamics, virtual interactions, and developing relationships or life skills within online gaming worlds. She also has an interest in the Enneagram Personality types and how they can be used to identify areas of development and assist in personal growth - and also how they may assist companies in employee interpersonal interactions and work productivity.

Dr. Bryant completed her research and doctorate program in 2020. She is back in Alabama and excited to take on the world. Armed along with her education, she is a nationally certified counselor through the NCC and is licensed by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling to practice therapy in the state of Alabama. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, Division 46. With her solid experience, education, and training in both counseling and research, Dr. Bryant founded Creative Processes to provide her expertise and insight gained over the last 20 years to individuals, families, and businesses and support them as they work through change.

Dr. Bryant has a strong commitment to family and values her roles as a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. She identifies as Christian and has learned through many transitional phases of her own the importance of faith and how even doubts can be used to bolster confidence in faith. With an innate love of animals and fondness for felines, she has been adopted by cats and given them life-long homes. She cared for two cats for about 16 years through diabetes and intestinal lymphoma and currently has a 20-year-old kitty who is going strong. Dr. Bryant is a mental health advocate and will go above and beyond to help her friends, family, or clients – and if she cannot, then she puts the same effort into finding them the resources and help that they need. She is a crafter and enjoys exploring crafts with unique appearances, mediums, and geeky themes. When time allows, Dr. Bryant enjoys playing games and visiting friends in virtual worlds, such as World of Warcraft and Animal Crossing. She is known by friends to be caring and genuine, what you see is what you get. She is a foodie, with a love language in memes.

Dr. Bryant currently works with adults. She most enjoys counseling individuals with concerns of life transition and faith. Through the use of a combination of empathy and solution-focused therapeutic approaches, drawing from CBT as needed, Dr. Bryant specializes in treating life transitions, self-esteem, and helping others process and gain the skills needed to live as their more optimal and authentic selves.

Her research continues to focus on virtual settings and the development of life skills and relationships within those virtual venues.
