Life is all about balance and that is true for medications also. Medications may be the needed at times but are not the only treatment. We work together with the patient to find the right balance of medications along with therapy and other behavioral health and lifestyle changes to treat:

Addiction to substances is a chronic disease that begins with voluntarily taking drugs but the persons ability to choose gets more difficult over time. Substance abuse is indicated by a compulsive, uncontrollable, seeking behaviors despite harmful consequences from the substance use.

Addiction to Alcohol, Opiates, and other drugs can be challenging to stop and it requires a team effort. Together with each client we develop a personalized treatment plan working with all of the client’s providers to find the best strategy to helping the client overcome their dependence on substances.

Not all addictions have specific medication. Many times substances are used to self medicate the symptoms of mental health problems. Stabilizing any behavioral health issues such as depression and anxiety can help. At Balanced life we do offer specific medication treatment for Opiate and Alcohol addiction.

Using the whole patient approach Balanced Life provides a personalized treatment approach for each client. In order to treat the whole patient, we work with patients struggling with addiction to find a healthy balance of mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.

Opiate addition treatment: Suboxone

          Suboxone (buprenorphine) is a treatment that helps opiate users come off stronger opiates. It provides a safe way for the client to be stabilized their cravings, reduces high risk behaviors, prevents relapses and allows the patient to stay focused and engage in treatment.

          Suboxone significantly can reduce or eliminate withdrawal symptoms. This is important in a successful recovery. Balanced Life Behavioral Health focuses on the person as a whole and along with medication assisted treatment like suboxone, we put together a comprehensive treatment plan that include treatment to discover and addres the root cause of the addictive behavior, addressing behavioral health issues, therapy to learn positive coping skills, and how to navigate triggers for drug abuse.

It works in the brain by blocking certain receptiors that urges people to use alcohol. Taking a medication like naltrexone helps maintain abstinese from these substances. Together with other supportive treatments can help start and maintain sobriety

Blocking the effect decreases urge to use allows the client to focus on their treatment.
