About MVMT Physical Therapy
Our mission at MVMT Physical Therapy is to use mechanical care to help you perform pain-free. We offer a unique focus on dancers due to the clinician's dance background. Our guiding principle is that most musculoskeletal pain is “mechanical” in origin. Therefore, mechanical pain will respond to mechanical force movement.
Physical therapy is labeled as conservative care, which means non-surgical care. Physical therapists have 7 years of schooling to learn how to evaluate and identify musculoskeletal and neurological deficits, educate our clients, as well as strengthen and stretch the identified problem areas. All physical therapists learn a set of skills while training but tend to lean towards a skill set we see as the most beneficial for our clients. This means we all treat slightly differently from one another. Some prefer a more hands-on approach through manual therapy, while others use modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, as well as dry needling in some states. We tend to use exercise-based treatments that are direction specific, which are based on the McKenzie Method as our main style of treatment. Physical therapy is designed to help you understand what the problem is, and use a blend of treatments to fix the issue. We help patients in Raleigh, Durham, Apex, Morrisville, Cary, Chapel Hill, and the surrounding NC area.
