About Coronavirus Testing Location in Chesapeake, VA at Sentara Edinburgh Diagnostic Center
Sentara plans to staff the drive-throughs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
Medical staff will ask questions of people while they remain in their cars to determine whether they meet the criteria for testing. If they do, they will move on to a clinician, who will place an order for the test. The staff can then collect samples to be sent to a lab for testing.
The criteria will include respiratory illness symptoms — fever, cough and shortness of breath — plus travel history and potential contact with other people known to have contracted the coronavirus or who have been to an area known to have outbreaks.
In addition to the screening stations, Sentara has set up a call center, at 833-945-2395, to answer questions related to the coronavirus and direct people to resources.
