About Michael M. Di Iorio, MD, RPVI, RVT, RPhS
Dr. Di Iorio graduated with honors from New York University and earned his Doctor of Medicine from Rutgers University Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. After completing an internship in general surgery and a residency in diagnostic radiology, he completed a fellowship in vascular & interventional radiology at Brown University where he also served on the faculty of the Warren Alpert School of Medicine of Brown University.
Dr. Di Iorio is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in both Vascular & Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology. He was also one of the first in the country to be certified by the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine. In addition, Dr. Di Iorio has earned multiple advanced ultrasound certifications becoming a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation, a Registered Vascular Technologist and a Registered Phlebology Sonographer, certifications that document the highest standard in vascular ultrasound examination and interpretation.
Dr. Di Iorio is an active member of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society (AVLS) serving as co-chair of the Education Development Committee and chair of the Internet & Enduring Materials Review Committee. Dr. Di Iorio sits on the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Venous & Lymphatic Medicine and is a committee member for the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine. He is the co-creator and co-editor of the AVLS Clinical Case of the Month and a graduate of the inaugural class of the American College of Phlebology’s (now AVLS) Leadership Academy. Dr. Di Iorio has been an invited speaker for the American Vein and Lymphatic Society and has discussed vein treatment options on local TV in the Houston and Phoenix areas. After running a large vein treatment clinic in the Houston area, Dr. Di Iorio moved to Austin to be closer to family. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, running, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and spending time with his wife and 3 daughters.
