As a healthcare practitioner, I believe that personalized preventive care is of the utmost importance in helping people achieve their health goals. My education and experience in the healthcare field has enabled me to incorporate a client-centered approach to medicine that is tailored to the unique needs of those who seek my counsel.
Because beliefs, attitudes and motivations can all play a major role in overall wellness, I examine and include the physical, mental and emotional aspects of all of my clients in order to make a more holistic and accurate diagnosis. My devotion to good health is the basis and primary focus of my practice. I value the trust and confidence of my clients with whom I work in partnership for better health.

My Background and Education:
I was born in Bombay, India and grew up with a family that had more faith in homeopathy than allopathy medicines. I thus grew up with healthy skepticism for physicians and surgeons and throughout my professional life my biggest rule was first do not harm. I went to medical school in Indore, India and did three years residency in Internal Medicine. After that I was teaching for a short time at a medical college in India. I came to the USA in 1972. I spent 3 years going through internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital from 1972 through 1975 and became board certified in Internal Medicine.
The next two years I spent doing a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Sinai Hospital, Detroit from July 1975 through June 1977. I became board certified in Gastroenterology that year. Since 1977, I had been in the practice of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. In the early 1990s I decided to study other modalities, leading to Board Certification in 2005 by the American Board of Holistic Medicine. I have thus started a consulting practice of Integrative Functional Medicine to help people maximize their individual health potential.
I have had extensive experience in teaching interns and residents. Throughout my professional career, I have given numerous lectures to professionals and lay audiences.
I continually attend seminars and subscribe to numerous professional journals to keep myself as updated as possible with the rapidly advancing science of both allopathic and functional medicine.
