About Nico Conti

Dr. Nico Conti is an internal medicine physician who practices with the UCLA Hospitalist Downtown Cohort at Martin Luther King Hospital, Barlow Respiratory Hospital, California Hospital Medical Center and Olive View Hospital. During medical school, he also researched potential therapeutic drug options for dengue virus infections. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Case Western Reserve University / University Hospitals and Louis Stokes’ VA Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. During residency, he was awarded the Resident Teaching Award in his final year for his lecture style and teaching on the wards. During residency, he also studied bacterial mechanisms of resistance to antibiotics resulting in clinical drug resistance. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he researched persistent viral infections and created culture models of such infections.

When he’s not in the hospital, Dr. Conti enjoys hiking, writing music and teaching medical students in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
