Phillip Hertzman is Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic disease practicing in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was one of the physicians who first recognized and reported the Eosinophilia Myalgia Syndrome (EMS) linked to the use of L-tryptophan. Dr. Hertzman has published several book chapters and articles in medical journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine, JAMA, Journal of the American Board of Family Practice, American Family Physician, The Journal of Hypertension, Phlebology, and Journal of Rheumatology.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Phlebology, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is also a member of the American College of Rheumatology and the American Venous Forum.
Dr Hertzman has served on several Committees of the American College of Phlebology, including the program committee in 2015, is on the panel of national preceptors, and has been a regular faculty member at the Annual ACP meetings since 2007.
