I received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Psychology from Sarah Lawrence College, and prior to working as a therapist, I worked in the field of HIV prevention research at UCSF. I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Smith College School of Social Work. My graduate training included working at New Leaf Services for our Community, serving the LGBT community with low-cost, accessible, and competent therapy. Additionally, I have worked for over a decade in community mental health, providing group and individual therapy, advocacy, and case management to low-income and homeless dually diagnosed adults and seniors with chronic mental illness.

In addition to my private practice, I work as a Psychiatric Social Worker at a hospital. I have extensive experience providing care to those suffering from trauma and psychiatric and emotional crisis and supporting their caregivers and family members.

I have worked with the following issues: anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, interpersonal dynamics and communication, substance abuse/addiction, caregiver stress, sexuality and gender identity, racial trauma, psychosis, chronic and severe mental illness, homelessness, and poverty.
