About Miguel Bunker-Huertas, DC
Dr. Miguel Bunker-Huertas received his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from National University of Health Sciences, in Lombard, Illinois, and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida, in Gainesville, Florida. Go Gators!
Prior to becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Bunker-Huertas practiced massage therapy for 10 years, and worked with triathletes, runners, yogis, volleyball players and weight lifters. He specialized in orthopedic and sports massage, as well as prenatal massage and neuromuscular therapy.
As a Chiropractor, Dr. Bunker-Huertas builds on his experience with manual therapy by incorporating rehabilitation through The McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment® (MDT). Developed by Robin McKenzie, McKenzie Therapy is a system of musculoskeletal care that emphasizes patient empowerment and self-treatment. This system uses a reliable, evidence-based approach to musculoskeletal pain to treat acute, sub-acute or chronic issues. In 2021, Dr. Bunker-Huertas proudly joined the worldwide community of Certified MDT practitioners.
Dr. Bunker-Huertas also incorporates assessments and treatments from Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), a method of rehabilitation that utilizes developmental kinesiology, breathing and progressive exercises to restore functional movement, treat joint dysfunction, and reduce muscular tension. By creating a tailored approach to treatment, he strives to create a sense of well-being through hands-on approaches and through restorative movement. Dr. Bunker-Huertas enjoys working with athletes, children and parents, as well as soon-to-be parents.
In his free time, he enjoys cooking and dancing with his wife and two boys, as well as weight training, practicing yoga, running, and travelling to his hometown in Puerto Rico

Dr. Bunker-Huertas graduated from Motion Palpation Institute, with a Bachelor of Arts from University of Florida, from National University of Health Sciences, and from Boulder College of Massage Therapy. Miguel Bunker-Huertas, DC earned a degree of a Doctor of Chiropractic.
