About Jennifer Hadley, MD, PhD

Dr. Hadley earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, where she was part of the Medical Scientist Training Program, which allowed her to simultaneously complete her medical doctorate (M.D.) and a doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in biomedical engineering. Her dissertation research explored the use of resting-state fMRI to predict treatment outcomes in patients suffering from severe psychiatric illness with Dr. Adrienne Lahti; she has authored a number of scientific articles on this and other topics. After completing her graduate degrees, she continued at UAB for Psychiatry Residency Training with a special focus on Psychotherapy. As part of her training in Psychotherapy, she attended didactics with the child and adolescent fellows, took on additional psychotherapy cases with extra supervision, and became proficient in administering and interpreting projective testing (including the Rorschach and the Tasks of Emotional Development TED tests). During her training, she expanded her research interests to include quality improvement and the application of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to healthcare. As a resident, she received the 2018 Resident Leadership Award and was part of the team that won the 12th Annual MindGames competition at the American Psychiatry Association’s 2018 Annual Meeting in New York City, NY.
