About Denean W. Jones, MSW
I am a licensed clinical social worker in Missouri with over 5 years experience working with adolescents, adults, couples and families. I have worked with a variety of mental health issues that include: grief and loss, life transitions, resilience building, adjustment to illness, supporting caregivers, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, complicated grief and loss, mind-body, spirituality, stress reduction, life balance and relationship issues. My clinical experience includes inpatient/outpatient medicine, therapeutic day school, residential care settings and private practice. I hold a master's degree in clinical social work from The University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Argosy University. I have extensive training in trauma informed care, couples counseling and illness related mental health issues. I have also helped a number of trauma and abuse survivors.
I possess an integrative, holistic approach to therapy. This means that as a therapist I combine my clinical knowledge of attachment theory, neuroscience, cognitive behavioral theory, and psycho dynamic theory with the wisdom and insights from mindfulness-based practices, creative expression and nature. I work to create a nurturing, compassionate, safe space that honors the individuals healing process and instigates growth and development.
