Dr. Torres was born in Granada, Nicaragua, and migrated to the United States at a young age to pursue a better future. He was always involved in his community, like working as a Martial Arts professor for several years to teach kids self-defense. After graduating from High School, in 1994, Dr. Torres joined the U.S Army National Guard; he served as an infantry soldier until 2001 while simultaneously attending his undergraduate studies. During his time at Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Torres was involved in multiple aspects of campus life, such as being a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. As a Nova alumnus, Dr. Torres helped found the Beta Chapters at Florida International University and the University of Miami.
Dr. Torres' passion for helping others translated to being an optometrist as his professional career. During his optometric training, he was an Assistant Clinical researcher for the Vistakon testing clinic. Moreover, he completed his clinical and medical ophthalmic rotations with physicians in Puerto Rico. The former with an emphasis on contact lenses and post-refractive surgery complications; the latter with an emphasis on neuro-ophthalmology and legal issues. After receiving his Doctor of Optometry, Dr. Torres further specialized by completing a Fellowship training in ocular disease.
Since 2006, Dr. Torres has been a practicing Optometric Physician. He has worked in diverse environments ranging from owning private practices to serving as an Optometric Physician in the U.S. Army, achieving the ranking of Captain. Since then, Dr. Torres has joined local and national Optometric Associations to further connect with his community. In 2009, Dr. Torres received the title of Associate Professor at Miami-Dade College Medical Campus. Dr. Torres' extensive training has led to compassionate and professional services with all his patients.

Dr. Torres graduated with an Associate of Arts from Miami Dade College, from Braverman Eye Center, with a Bachelor of Science from Nova Southeastern University, and with a Doctor of Optometry from Inter American University of Puerto Rico, School of Optometry.
