About Carol M. Kaminskas, MD
Dr. Kaminskas views medicine as an active partnership with her patients. She encourages active participation in both decision making and a personal action plan for attaining patient`s health goals. Her practice incorporates the mind, the body and the spirit as an attempt to balance these developmental areas in everyday life. She encourages her patients through long term relationships in which exercise, nutritional choices, intellectual stimulation and emotional support are essential.
Dr. Kaminskas is the current president of the MemorialCare Physician Society as well as the past chair of the Department of Womens and Childrens at Saddleback Hospital. She has served on numerous committees including credentials, case review and the interdisciplinary team. She is a past board member of OCWMG and is current in her board certification with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She completed degrees in biology and psychology at the University of California in Irvine and went on to obtain her medical degree at Northwestern University in Chicago. She then returned to her extended family in Orange County to complete a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and met her husband of 15 years, Jay Yosenick.
Although Nike deserves all of the credit, Dr. Kaminskas believes that we can all, "Just do it and stop talking about it!"
True to her values, Dr. Kaminskas went on to obtain an MBA with an emphasis in health care from UCI after her family was completed. In addition, you may see her along the street (or preferably the softer dirt running path) in Laguna Niguel in life`s ongoing attempt to balance health, family and professional life. Finally, she gives credit to her fabulous husband Jay without whom she could not serve her community or her patients.
Dr. Kaminskas resides in Laguna Niguel where she happily travels among the various baseball, soccer, and sports facilities while raising her four loud and entertaining kids (perhaps you have heard them and thought the train was passing by, but you would have been incorrect...). Garrett, Grant, Gregory, and Gillian round out her full life experience with the joys and happiness of teen humor, developing personalities and hilarious anecdotes. If you know Dr. Kaminskas, you have most likely already heard a few of these priceless stories used as examples of how a little humor in medicine can go a long way!
