About Edward M. Boyle, MD
He is the co-founder and director of Inovia Vein Specialty Centers, which now has four centers in Oregon. He is the founder and chairman of ClearFlow, Inc., a venture financed medical device company that he led from inception through commercialization. He also founded Precision Thoracic, MDI Partners, a medical device incubator, and Elixis, a healthcare information technology company that was acquired by Data Critical Corporation (NASDAQ: DCCA), now a division of General Electric (NYSE: GE). In this capacity he is experienced raising venture capital financing and taking ideas from the bedside through product approval and commercialization.
He has received research awards from the American College of Surgeons, the American Heart Association, the Western Thoracic Surgery Association and the Seattle Surgical Society. He has received numerous innovation awards including the Technocollege Innovation Award from the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons and the Innovations in Cardiovascular interventions (ICI) award. He is a co founder of the Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) cardiac society, a non profit that promotes recovery after surgery.
