About Carol L. Croft, MD, FACP
Dr. Croft graduated Phi Beta Kappa with highest honors from the University of California Santa Barbara. She received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991 and completed her residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern in 1995. Dr. Croft was a professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and held the Baldridge Family Professorship in Internal Medicine and Preventive Care. During her time at UT Southwestern, she has served as program director of the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program, University Hospitals Quality and Safety Officer and several other leadership roles. Dr. Croft's clinical interests include preventive care, perioperative evaluation of complicated surgical patients, clinical effectiveness and professionalism. She is passionate about patient safety and patient-centered care. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the American Medical Informatics Association. Among her numerous honors and awards, she is most proud of the UT Southwestern Leaders in Clinical Excellence Institutional Service Award in 2020.
