About Tyler R. Austin, DPM
Dr. Austin attended the University of Florida where he received his BS and MS in Food Science and Human Nutrition. Upon earning his Master’s, Dr. Austin then moved to Philadelphia, where he attended the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. While in school, he partook in various biomechanical and sports medicine research projects for the Gait Study Center and was awarded the Merit Scholarship from the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
After graduation, Dr. Austin completed a three-year podiatric surgical and medical residency at Jefferson Health Northeast, where he was exposed to a high level of foot and ankle pathologies and their diagnoses and treatments. Dr. Austin now practices with the Allied Podiatric and Vascular Institute (APVI) and provides conservative and surgical care for a diverse range of foot and ankle issues, including but not limited to the forefoot and rearfoot deformities, fungal nail infections, nerve entrapments, sports injuries, fracture care, and joint fusion or replacement. As part of the APVI, Dr. Austin performs preventative care and complex wound care, as well as limb salvage for at-risk diabetic and elderly patients, and is able to offer patients extensive vascular evaluations.
