About Judy Y. Martin, EdD, MFT, MA
I graduated from Liberty University, VA where I received a MA degree in Human Services Counseling with a specialization in Military Resilience. I have had specialized training to work effectively with the military, veterans, and their families for more than 15 years on military bases. The doctoral program at Liberty University has equipped me to serve my community who is in need and struggling with life events and adjustment issues. I am specialized in Marriage and Family Counseling Therapy and am a Certified Prepare/ Enrich Facilitator. I specialize in behavioral problems, emotional outbursts, anxiety, sibling conflict, poor peer relations, singles issues, grief, co-parenting, adjustment issues, aging concerns, and depression. My extensive travel abroad and studies at the University of Cadiz, Spain (Communication) bring cultural diversity to my practice. I am passionate about helping families improve communication and reduce conflict.
My Therapeutic Model is technical eclecticism (e.g., integrative approach to psychotherapy). My treatment focus is on PTSD, SUD, comorbidity disorder, anger, panic attacks, and depression.
My undergraduate studies are from Kennesaw State University where I obtained a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on culture, languages, history, literature, sociology, psychology, economics, and political science. Also, I hold a second degree in Business Administration; I possess a strong academic foundation and have more than 15 years of work experience in core business functions including business theory, accounting, finance, project management, information technology, human resources, marketing, international business, logistics, and organizational behavior.
I am certified by the Athletics Fitness Association of America (AFAA) as a Yoga and Pilates Instructor with more than 20 years of experience. I instruct and coach children from the elementary school level to the intermediate school level to become fit, improve their overall health, and boost their self-esteem. Also, I provide a multidisciplinary approach to teaching meditation and Pranayama. We meet at Wildlife Action Inc - for group exercise, yoga, or Pilates classes for young adults, families, or individuals.
