HTCC Hand Physical Therapists

Hand Therapy Certification Commission is a medical organization dedicated to Hand Physical Therapy. Doctors and practitioners associated with HTCC have special training and skill in treating hand and upper extremity conditions in collaboration with orthopedic and general surgeons who also specialize in the hand and upper extremities. Hand Therapy Certification Commission members perform preventative, non-surgical, surgical, and post-surgical rehabilitation. Hand Physical Therapy is the evaluation and treatment of upper extremity (shoulder, arm, elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand) ailments and injuries. Significant diseases and conditions treated by many HTCC members include frozen shoulder, shoulder impingement, cubital tunnel syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, CMC arthritis, Dupuytren disease, De Quervain tendinopathy, boutonniere deformity, trigger finger, extensor tendon injury, flexor tendon injury, distal radius fracture, and stroke. Medical tests, procedures and therapies provided by HTCC healthcare providers include developing exercise programs; conducting manual therapy, creating custom orthotics; and managing swelling, pain, and scar care.
