About Andrew W. Drost, LMSW, LCSW
I have worked in a mental health clinical setting for 5 years with children, adolescents, and adult populations. Throughout my career, I have helped with a wide range of mental health diagnoses and utilized multiple different intervention strategies to provide the highest level of care for my patients. My philosophy of working with an individual in therapy is person-centered. I always try to focus the treatment on the goals of the individual person. I believe that active listening is very important and that being too quick to intervene and offer feedback can sometimes just create unnecessary discomfort. I have a very patient and compassionate approach and recognize that everyone is a unique individual with a different array of issues. During my time as a therapist, I have been effective in helping with relationship issues and people who suffer from self-destructive patterns of codependency. My specialty is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Insight-oriented therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Crisis Intervention regularly in my practice. I provide Individual therapy, Couples, Marital Counseling, and Family therapy, and work with adolescents too. I am compassionate in my approach, with good listening skills, and a relaxed and approachable demeanor. My schedule is flexible as I offer morning, daytime, and nighttime availability to accommodate the needs of all patients depending on their work and school schedules.
