Dr. Karl Hubach graduated from George Washington Medical School in 1990 and moved to Murrells Inlet in 1996. Since 1997, Dr. Hubach has performed specialty work in the treatment of venous disease. The American Medical Association has recognized this area of medicine as a new specialty field called Phlebology. Dr. Hubach has trained with internationally known Phlebology experts and has dedicated himself to extensive studying in the area of Phlebology. He has had the pleasure to write for textbooks, lecture, and educate other on venous disease and current treatment options. He is one of the first 248 physicians in the country to become Board Certified in Phlebology. He has also served as an expert in the field of Phlebology to help formulate a new credentialing exam for venous ultrasound. As a reflection of his dedication to the field, he has obtained additional credentials as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and a Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPhs). Dr. Hubach is excited to be a part of this new specialty field of medicine and to offer the latest in the diagnosis and treatment of venous diseases.

He especially enjoys treatment of underlying venous disease that is causing long standing skin changes and ulcers to the legs and ankles. 70 to 80% of ulcers on the legs are from venous disease that, when treated properly, results in faster and longer lasting healing.

Graduate of George Washington Medical School, Residency in Family Practice, treatment of venous disease since 1997, involved in the development of the new specialty field called Phlebology. Written for textbooks on venous disease treatment, lectured, one of the first 248 physicians to become Board Certified in Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, served as a subject matter expert in the field of Phlebology to formulate a new credentialing exam for venous ultrasound.
