About Deborah Poulsen-McRae, LPC
My first goal as a therapist is to help my clients understand what's happening to them and to give them the tools to feel better as quickly as possible! I specialize in working with clients who are dealing with difficult life circumstances that include the Trauma of Betrayal, Unwanted Sexual Addictions, Narcissistic Abuse, Childhood Trauma, and Marital Relationship Issues. With a focus on the mind-body connection, I compassionately guide my clients in understanding and changing their unhealthy thinking patterns, reframing their self-limiting, shame-based beliefs, and reprocessing the trauma held in their bodies. My approach is very client-centered, solution-focused, and supported by the latest reliable research. I believe that we 'repeat what we don't repair' and in the power to heal from our pain.
Education
I am a certified EMDR therapist, an IITAP Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, EFT (couples), and hypnotherapy. I also use a mind-body approach to help clients with their trauma. Please contact me for a free 15-minute consultation.
