About Tiffany Simmons, LPC, LAC, MA
My passion is working with clients that have been in therapy before and don't believe it will help and struggle to trust others. I have a passion for working with complex trauma including attachment, adoption, and developmental trauma, and have advanced training in EMDR. I focus on healing the underlying wounds that continue to impact us over giving a Bandaid fix through skills to manage the symptoms. I am also a Licensed Addictions Counselor. I have found at the root of nearly all addiction, depression, anxiety, and most other "issues" is trauma, and when healed the need to use and other symptoms begin to disappear.
We grow up being told that "things could always be worse" or "at least...", inherently telling us that our experience and emotions are not valid or real. I specialize in treating trauma and attachment knowing at the core of healing is a safe relationship. Firefly, my therapy dog in training, is also a part of sessions to help bring grounding and safety.
I have never met someone for whom healing was out of reach and you are no different. When you walk into my office it becomes your space in which you have complete control. No matter the darkness you are existing in, you do not have to be in it alone. Healing is not out of reach. You've done what you had to to survive, now it's time to start living.
