Prior to engaging in mental health private practice counseling services, Mario worked for several non-profit integrative behavioral health community agencies in Chicago, as a clinician and administrator.

Mario was a program administrator for an Opioid Medication Treatment (OMT) clinic. He was also a director of a chronic homelessness men’s transitional housing program, and a men’s residential program - American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Level 3.5 placement criteria. In these roles, Mario oversaw all the administrative/operational and clinical compliance mandates as per local, state, and federal/DEA programmatic requirements. Mario’s roles involved direct oversight and leadership stewardship of over 65 clinical and non-clinical team members.

He also was responsible for staff training and development, including providing clinical supervision for counselors seeking LCPC and CADC licensure requirements. In a previous role as a program manager/supervisor of the counseling department at Association House of Chicago, Mario’s responsibilities included providing management training focused on staff development and clinical supervision for managers of the following programs: Juvenile Justice Mental Health Program; Building Family Foundations Program; Children, Youth, and Adult Counseling Programs; and School-Based Counseling Programs.
