About Sebastian Conti, MD, FACS
I began my career in Sacramento as an assistant professor on the academic and clinical staff at the University of California Medical Center in 1977, rotating as an attending surgeon on the vascular and trauma services.
In 1981, I established a private practice in Vascular Surgery but remained on the University’s clinical faculty mentoring first-year medical students in my office practice. (Proud to say I received excellent reviews from the students for my teaching.)
In 2016, I voluntarily stopped doing carotid, aneurysm, arterial, and vascular access procedures to focus on the management of venous disorders. I reduced my work hours by 20% in order to spend more time with family and to pursue other interests such as photography and writing (I enrolled in a creative writing class and have written more than 130 short stories and poems. Currently in progress are a novel and a memoir. I've also performed standup comedy.
